held in this shifting present
Capturing Kruger's cloudscapes.
On Thursday the sky over the southern end of Kruger National Park had become cloud-filled but there was nothing claustrophobic about this; it seemed as vast and restless as an ocean. Light and cloud and fragments of blue scudded around, shifting into different configurations, all of them sublime. Observing this from the passenger seat on the lonely road to Lower Sabie I felt such rapturous contentment. Content to be held in this dazed, dazzling, shifting present. Content except for the urge to capture (with my phone camera) the changing masterpiece above – again and again and worshipfully again.
